Biography

David Lackenby was born in Portsmouth, England. He grew up in England and Holland, and attended the Salford School of Physiotherapy near Manchester. His first job was in Burnley General Hospital which had a PT Culture with a strongbias towards the mobilization and manipulation techniques developed by the late Dr. James Cyriax. There he developed a love for manual therapy that continues to this day. He has continued his education and has deepened his knowledge of manual therapy that includes a 2 year part time Residency to acquire a Master of Manual Therapy Certification from the Ola Grimsby Institute.


David has worked on Sanibel for 18 years, providing Physical Therapy to patient’s to improve their quality of life, and relieve their pain. David uses his hands as a tool to make his patient’s feel better. He states it feels like a super power.


David moved to Florida in the 1990’s and lives here with his wife Nikki and 2 children, Gia 12 years, and Bode 10 years. Both children attend Sanibel School. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, paddling an outrigger canoe, and has recently resumed Brazilian Jin- Jitsu after a 25 year hiatus.
