Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging technique that provides high-quality images of organs and structures within your body without surgery or radiation. The MRI scanner uses a magnet, radio waves and computer technology to produce the pictures.
The MRI in our office is an “open” MRI. The scanner is open on three sides and patients are able to see and speak to our staff during the exam. All scans are read by a Radiologist who reports the results directly back to our physicians. Patients find it convenient to have their MRI completed in our office, rather than having to travel to a different facility.
The MRI program at Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida is accredited through the Intersociatal Accreditation Commission (IAC). The IAC Standards and Guidelines for MRI Accreditation is an extensive criteria outlining requirements for MRI facilities to ensure a high standard of safety and care.
